This week will be a little bit different. There will be no vocab or ID worksheets. There will be no notes (which means less lecture). You will be working with the Growth of a Nation write-ups, doing several small group activities, we have one video to watch over the Presidents from John Quincy Adams to James K. Polk, and a folder activity on slavery. You may have to do some writing this week! The primary homework for the week will be some reading assignments. The main topics to be discussed are: The American System, Age of Jackson, Manifest Destiny, Social Reform Movements, and Transportation and Market Revolutions.
“Before the rise of the printing press in the sixteenth century, stories were passed down orally. The older people in a community shared the important stories of their history…all principles and values of life woven within these gripping narratives. They shared these stories with each other, and with the next generation. It was a part of their culture…their lives.” - Randy Frazee (The Story) ... How well do you know our story?
